Bush Talks the Talk
It's interesting to read what sounds like a constitutional understanding of the separation of church and state by George Bush. You certainly don't see that every day. However, he contradicts his statement in the same interview by admitting he is attempting to impose his religious beliefs on Americans and the world.Bush Calls for 'Culture Change' - Christianity Today Magazine: "How you do balance not promoting a particular religion, while still being influenced by your personal faith?
My job is to make sure that, as President, people understand that in this country you can worship any way you choose. And I'll take that a step further. You can be a patriot if you don't believe in the Almighty. You can honor your country and be as patriotic as your neighbor."
